Toyota Mark X: X120 vs X130 Parts Fitment

Know your generation

The X120 is the earlier car; the X130 replaced it and ran on for many years with its own mid-life facelift. Body panels, lights, bumpers and interior trim are generation-specific. If you are unsure which you have, the chassis number tells us immediately.

• X120 — the first generation
• X130 — the second generation, later facelifted
• Body and lighting parts do not cross between generations
• The facelift within the X130 run changed front-end parts again

Engines

The common engine is the 2.5 V6 4GR-FSE, with a 3.5 2GR-FSE in the higher-powered models. Because these are V6 rear-drive cars, engine mounts, cooling parts and exhaust components are specific to the engine fitted — the engine code is what we need, not just the year.

• 4GR-FSE 2.5 V6 — the most common
• 2GR-FSE 3.5 V6 — the higher-output option
• Quote the engine code for mounts, cooling and ancillaries

Front control arms, suspension components, lighting, electrical modules and body panels move fastest for the Mark X. Suspension wear is common on Jamaican roads, and it is worth replacing in pairs rather than one side at a time.
